    What is the opportunity?

    As a Quality Engineer / SDET you will support the Director, USWM Quality Engineering in achieving their strategic goals for the QE Team by providing leadership, technical support to the team, design solutions to testing problems the business faces via relevant process and practice, the use of tools and technology and by applying soft skills such as effective communication and mentoring of QE staff and other project team members in industry-standard & RBC sanctioned Quality Engineering methodologies.

    You are a technical specialist focusing on test case design, implementation, use & enablement of the QE function and will provide technical test design and planning in your area of expertise. You'll provide leadership and tactical direction for your assigned QE area, subject matter expertise on test case design and test architecture, including integration & end-to-end testing, provide recommendations and contribute to test strategy & technical solutions in your area of expertise, including leading QE work streams, support the implementation of projects and overall QE process and standards through optimized test case design, test architecture and utilization of automation frameworks in assigned unit.

    You will be willing to transform with this Product area as it has the potential to become a Unified Engineering team. As a Unified Engineer, you will have the skills to both code and test.

    What will you do?

    • Preparation of test plan/strategy documents as per SDLC including estimation.
    • Designing test cases for given requirements/user stories either manually or by using any optimization tools (Conformiq/MAGiX).
    • Automating test cases using RBC recommended automation framework, as per acceptance criteria
    • Creating test data and ensuring environment availability
    • Executing test cases manually and/or running the automated test scripts.
    • Partnering with the Performance Engineering team and plan & execute performance test cycles on assigned applications/projects.
    • Participate and provide input in agile ceremonies like, Sprint planning, grooming sessions, stand-up meetings, demo sessions, and retrospective meetings
    • Coordinate E2E and integration testing, and provide stakeholder communication and reporting

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have:

    • Computer Engineering, Computer Science, related (technical) degree/diploma
    • Hands-on programming experience (e.g., Java, C ) and SQL DB querying and/or other database testing experience.
    • 3-+ years' of experience designing test cases with a focus on optimized test design techniques with automated testing in a variety of environments (cloud, distributed and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases)
    • Hands-on experience in developing and implementing efficient test case design and test architecture techniques, automation framework(s) & automation strategies
    • Expert knowledge of industry practices with focus on Agile, DevOps, environments and test integration
    • Strong communication, stakeholder management and coordination skills

    Nice to Have

    • Experience reviewing artefacts including code reviews (application and test automation scripts)
    • Experience using test case optimization tools such as ConformIQ, Hexawise,MAGiX etc.
    • Wealth/Portfolio Management domain knowledge
    • Mainframe navigation & Mainframe database querying experience
    • Business Objects experience
