Global Category Manager - Packaging
6+ Month Contract (Potential to Convert to Perm)
Job is 100% remote in CST zones.
If local to Rosemont, IL will be expected to be on site 2-3 days per week.
Travel is up to 35% to various location to include Mexico.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Packaging supplies in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers, managing complex multi-year relationships to support front-end portfolio strategies.
• Plan, organize, and communicate strategic sourcing activities related to assigned commodities and services.
• Analyze global markets, inform leadership about market trends, and translate procurement strategy into actionable plans.
• Build and expand procurement methods and technology to enhance efficiency in sourcing from multiple suppliers.
• Conduct business reviews of service providers, analyze spend data, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify strategic opportunities and prioritize cost-saving initiatives.
• Drive year-over-year cost savings and assess internal and external process improvements.
• Establish and execute indirect sourcing strategy with a focus on manufacturing operations and corporate functions.
• Serve as a strategic partner to drive global and regional Packaging strategies for the organization.
• Implement best-in-class decision-making processes, Preferred Supplier programs, and effective terms and conditions structure.
• Collaborate with finance to manage and improve working capital year over year.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or industrial management; MBA preferred.
• 7-10 years of proven experience in indirect categories, with a focus on professional services.
• Strong track record in developing strategic sourcing processes and leading a strategic sourcing team.
• Experience in sourcing for industrial manufacturing is a plus; APICS certification preferred.
• Ability to drive productivity and compliance in a complex organizational environment.
• Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to make timely recommendations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Oracle is a plus.
