Job Description :

We have an exciting career opportunity available in Erie, PA for an Electrical Engineer to manage projects for Locomotive System Design.

This position will interface with respective customer departments and local suppliers to execute assigned projects. The candidate should have a solid engineering background and proven experience with leading various electrical and systems related projects.

Additional design experience with GE Locomotives a plus.

Essential Responsibilities :

Discover root cause failures for electrical components.

Ensure that engineering activities within one or more projects are efficiently executed to meet customer expectations, contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Interactions will include engineering sub-system teams, drafting and global engineering sites.

Review and approve designs and 2-D drawings developed by designers.

Solve problems that appear during engineering development using appropriate communication, models, and tools.

Supports the advanced design and development of electro-mechanical components.

Drive cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to, design reviews, material orders, prototype builds, field and bench testing.

Etc.

Desired Skills :

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Experience with GD&T, general mfg processes, tooling and Lean Six Sigma.

Knowledge of electro-mechanical design and control logic.

Proficient in with 3D modeling (UG or Solid Works), a plus.

Familiarity with transformers, capacitors, bus bars, contactors, relays and circuit breakers.

Qualifications/Requirements

:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
