Phillips, Spallas & Angstadt LLP, an established AV-rated civil litigation law firm with offices in Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, seeks a detail-oriented, hardworking, self-starter for a Legal Assistant or Litigation Paralegal position in our Las Vegas office.

This position is an in-office position Monday-Friday. This candidate must be willing to commit to five days per week in the Las Vegas office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This position is ideal for a Legal Assistant or Litigation Paralegal looking to gain litigation experience or further develop litigation experience within a supportive and team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is an energetic, outgoing team player who works well under pressure and has a demonstrated ability to be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and hard-working.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Communicate with attorneys, witnesses, courts, experts and clients
· Enter time billing and expense data in a timely manner
· File pleadings with federal, Nevada and possibly California state courts
· Manage and update litigation calendars
· Prepare and serve legal documents and maintain accurate files
· Regarding document subpoenas, prepare and serve rule compliant subpoenas and manage status of responses via tracking matrices
· Summarize complex legal documents
· Proofread and finalize documents, including drafting Tables of Contents and Authorities
· Schedule meetings, depositions and court appearances
· Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
· Ability to handle multiple duties in a fast-paced environment
· Professional, organized, and a team player
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
· Proven ability to effectively manage time
· Demonstrated attention to detail
· Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, certificate in paralegal studies from an ABA-approved program or accredited institution highly preferred
· Previous litigation experience highly preferred
