THOR Solutions is actively seeking a Senior Corrosion Control Specialist to support an upcoming professional support services contract for the U.S.

Navy in Norfolk, VA. The candidate will perform/support tasks requiring an advanced level of knowledge in U.S. Navy Surface Ship Repair and Modernization.


Security Clearance Requirements:
Must possess an active DoD SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
High school diploma/GED equivalent, OR relevant technical diploma/certification, OR relevant military "A" or "C" school diploma/certification.
Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of recent, relevant professional experience obtained in or supporting the U.S. Navy with Depot, Intermediate, and Organizational Level Navy Maintenance in Corrosion Control.
National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)

Coating Inspector Program (CIP) certificationAn ideal candidate will also possess some/all of the following certifications:

Sensitized Aluminum Degree of Sensitivity (DOS) Probe OperatorClass IV Laser OperatorContainment Blast System Operator and InstructorNavy Asbestos Removal Team LeadStrong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with common productivity software including Microsoft Office.


Travel Requirements:
This position may involve periodic travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations including: San Diego, CA; Mayport, FL; Everett, WA; Honolulu, HI; and Arlington, VA

Typical Physical Activity:
This position's essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): typing, hearing, talking, vision.
