    JOB TITLE: Mechanic Shop Technician/Laborer
    JOB TYPE: Full-Time, non-exempt
    LOCATION: Metalico Buffalo (127 Fillmore Ave. Buffalo NY 14210)
    HOURS: Monday – Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
    COMPENSATION: $16-18/hr, based on experience & skills

    PURPOSE: Provides assistance to Mechanics to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assist in a wide variety of repair and/or maintenance work on all types of vehicles and heavy equipment.
    • Provide physical assistance to mechanics when servicing or repairing vehicles and heavy equipment.
    • Assist with the basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
    • Assist with maintaining the inventory of tools and supplies.
    • Perform routine maintenance duties, cleaning, lubricating tools as required.
    • Clean and prepare shops in a tidy and safe manner.
    • Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
    • Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers, drivers, and customers clearly and respectfully.
    • Must be able to work assigned schedule.
    • Must be able to perform a variety of tasks in all kinds of weather conditions.
    • On the job training opportunities intended for job advancement to transition to Mechanic role.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 lbs.)
    • Squat and kneel.
    • Bend and twist as appropriate
    • Sit/stand for long periods at a time.
    • Quick learner who can follow directions.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Team player.
    • Organized, consistent, and good at multitasking.
    • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
