    Position Summary

    The Mechanical Assembler partners with engineers and management to fit and assemble components according to electronic blueprints, manuals, and engineering memos.

    This position reports to the Production Supervisor and according to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), is classified as a non-exempt hourly position.

    What You'll Be Doing

    The Mechanical Assembler uses electronic blueprints and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using manual tools and power tools.

    • Reads and interprets manufacturing requirements, specifications, procedures and statements of work.
    • Provides recommendations and feedback to engineers and account managers
    • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges and micrometers; reports defective materials
    • Performs bench-type processes to complete mechanical, electrical assemblies and subassemblies to specifications using manual tools and electronic and pneumatic tooling. Projects may include large format table top test platforms and large format standalone test platforms
    • Tests and inspects finished product to ensure conformance to manufacturing specifications and correct any defects.

    Required of Mechanical Assembler
    • Ability to maintain a full time schedule
    • High School diploma or GED
    • 2+ years of mechanical assembly related experience
    • Knowledge of electronic blueprints or parts drawings
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of pneumatics and electronic controls
    • Motivated to a dynamic, change-based work environment
    • Focused with great attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Outlook and Word
    • Proven ability to maintain a 5S work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of intellectual property (ITAS, Prototype)
    • Experience reflective of compliance with safety regulations.
    Preferred
    • 2 year college diploma in a related field
    • Proficiency in navigating electronic blueprints or part drawings.
    • Clear understanding of Electrostatic Discharge
    • Openness to working additional hours during periods of peak demand.

    Flexible weekday hours
    Full-time 80 hours per two (2) week pay period
