    Pine Haven Nursing is a skilled nursing facility that focuses on rehabilitation and long-term healthcare services.     We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a skilled Director of Nursing. In this role, the Director of Nursing serves as the main administrative authority for the Nursing Department. The primary responsibilities include organizing and overseeing all nursing operations and ensuring the well-being of all residents and patients under our care.

    Key duties and responsibilities for this position include:

    • Directing, developing, implementing, reviewing, and revising nursing service goals and objectives.
    • Establishing and upholding standards of high-quality nursing practice.
    • Maintaining nursing policy and procedure manuals.
    • Developing guidelines for staffing, recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and retention of nursing personnel.
    • Serving as a liaison between Nursing Services and other departments.
    • Planning and managing the nursing budget and proposing significant expenditures.
    • Ensuring round-the-clock nursing care for residents and patients.
    • Communicating and implementing all administrative directives to nursing staff.
    • Acting as a resource for staff, offering guidance, direction, and assistance as needed.
    • Evaluating nursing personnel and making recommendations for promotions, training, and terminations.
    • Delegating responsibilities according to established job descriptions.
    • Conducting meetings with the Assistant Director of Nursing and staff to develop departmental policies and address issues.
    • Evaluating the nursing department's effectiveness through audits.
    • Participating in assigned committees.
    • Maintaining and enforcing departmental and facility procedures to prevent accidents and fires.
    • Adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
    • Participating actively in the facility's Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and Performance Improvement Project (PIP), identifying improvement opportunities, leading projects, providing education and coaching, and collaborating with the committee.
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Nursing Home Administrator.

    Key requirements for applicants include:

    • Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the NY State Board of Nurse Examiners.
    • Current Registered Nurse license from the NY State Board of Nurse Examiners.
    • Proficiency in nursing practices, medical procedures, legal regulations, and best practices in long-term care.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and supervisory skills, along with the ability to develop staff.
    • Proficiency in planning, organizing, and implementing programs, policies, and procedures to ensure quality care.
    • Understanding of budgeting and financial reporting basics.
    • Creating a collaborative and efficient work environment while maintaining quality standards.
    • Staying informed about evolving standards in nursing administration through continuous education.
    • Ability to tackle problems effectively.
