Academic English Teacher

Waypoint Academy, a coed residential treatment center, is seeking an academic certified English teacher to join our team. We provide treatment for adolescents ages 13-18 with anxiety, depression, and OCD in a clinically sophisticated setting.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to students of various ages and skill levels.

Duties

• Design and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans to ensure students achieve academic goals.
• Provide individualized academic advising and support to students, addressing their strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure student progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Participate in education administration tasks, such as lesson planning, grading, and attendance tracking.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or a valid teaching license.
• Strong knowledge of English Language Arts and the principles of effective teaching.
• Experience with classroom management and mentoring.
• Excellent proofreading and writing skills.
• Proficiency in learning technology and educational software.

Location:

Huntsville, UT 84317 (Relocate before starting work)

Work Schedule:

3PM-7PM Monday-Friday
