    Primary Purpose:
    Under the direction of the campus Principal, the Associate Principal is responsible for the organizational and instructional leadership of the school.
    Qualifications:
    Education/Certification:
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university
    Administrator certified appropriate for principal's position
    Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation & Support System (T-TESS) appraiser

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    Thorough understanding of school operations
    Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    Ability to coordinate campus support operations
    Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management,
    both internal and external to the department.
    Ability to perceive organizational implications of recommendations and decision.
    Ability to acquire information regarding different subjects, analyze, select, and present information in
    an acceptable form.

    Experience:
    Three years teaching experience
    Administrative experience as a principal, or an assistant principal
    Illustrative Duties:
    1. Facilitate and is accountable for planning and implementing School Improvement Plans (SIP) under the leadership of the campus Principal.
    2. Interpret central administration directives, regulations, and programs to staff, community, and students as directed by the campus Principal.
    3. Plan, lead, implement, and direct the school's academic and extracurricular programs in compliance with District policies as directed by the campus Principal.
    4. Observe and evaluate the school's total educational program with guidance and assistance from the campus Principal.
    5. Work in concert with teachers to improve the academic programs.
    6. Interview staff applicants and participate in selection of personnel with direction of the campus Principal within District policies and regulations.
    7. Develop and maintain good student, teacher, parent and community relations as directed by the campus Principal.
    8. Organize and coordinate staff development for faculty and staff under guidance of the campus Principal.
    9. Establish guidelines for student discipline and resolves student-related problems.
    10. Develop and maintain a plan to provide for the safety and welfare of students and faculty.
    11. Oversee maintenance of the school plant and school grounds as directed by the campus Principal.
    12. Direct and maintain accurate procedures for pupil and staff personnel accounting.
    13. Prepare various reports for state, local, and/or regulatory bodies.
    14. Administer the district policies on equipment and instructional budget as directed by the campus Principal.
    15. Maintain and supervise inventories of furniture, fixtures, supplies, and materials.
    16. Perform other duties as required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with campus Principal. Supervise teachers, paraprofessionals, clerical personnel and others as assigned. Working Conditions:
    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
    Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Occasional districtwide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
