    PAY $11.75/hr.

    SUMMARY
    • 30-40 hours per week
    • Assist Pool Manager in supervising up to twenty-two (22) pool employees.
    • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of pool facility.
    • Daily accounting of money and ensuring cash reports are correct.
    • Monitor concessions (including daily inventory and cash balancing)
    • Complete required documentation
    • Working various shifts from 7:00am-9:45pm
    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Ensure the safety of all patrons by preventive lifeguarding. Set an example to employees in dealings with the public and in the care of the facilities, while inspiring employees to work together to achieve a successful summer season.
    • Provide great customer service and ensure patron safety by properly enforcing all pool rules and regulations with both patrons and staff.
    • Be a good example for employees concerning operation of and care for facilities.
    • Respond to emergency situations and perform accordingly.
    • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of staff, as well as enforce policies in employee handbook.
    • Monitor employee hours and reporting concerns to Aquatic Supervisor.
    • Monitor concessions (including daily inventory and cash balancing)
    • Document all infractions and/or counseling that occur with your staff and/or patrons daily.
    • Assist and monitor staff for daily cleaning duties.
    • Ensure all cash reports submitted by the cashiers are complete and accurate.
    • Running daily in-service to ensure staff maintains monthly training hours for licensing.
    • Small mechanical repairs as needed and directed by Pool Maintenance or Aquatic Supervisor.
    • Communicate with fellow supervisors any problems or issues that arise during your shift.
    • Submit ideas for creative marketing tools to promote public attendance.
    • Assist Parks and Recreation in the promotion of special programs.
    • Perform other duties assigned by Pool Manager and Aquatic Supervisor.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred, as is basic knowledge of pool maintenance and mechanical operations but will train the right person. Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions. This position requires applicants to be at least 18 years of age, however, preference will be given to applicants 21 and older.
    • Complete American Red Cross Training.
    • Work varied shifts (7:00am-9:45pm).
    • Must have reliable transportation to work site(s) and be willing and able to work from March through the end of August. No vacations or leaves of absence are available for seasonal employees without prior approval and shift coverage.
    • Must be willing to work at any of the City Swimming Pools.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES.
    • Successful completion of skills pretest:
    • 200 yd. Swim
    • Tread water 2 minute (without using hands)
    • Retrieve 10 lb. brick from 7 ft. of water.
    • Ability to manage employees and lead by example.
    • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and mechanical operations.
    • Interpret, explain, and enforce city pool policies and procedures to employees and the public.
    • At least one (1) year of experience in a similar position, working with the public is preferred.
    • Complete an American Red Cross Certification class, provided by the department
