SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate maintenance of the trial balance and financial statements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory Responsibilities
o Directly supervises the General Ledger accounting team which includes one Senior Accountant and one Staff Accountant, and Accounts Payable which includes one Senior Accounts Payable Specialist.
o Review journal entries, account reconciliations, invoices, and expense reports.
o Review commission and royalty reports.
Key Responsibilities
o Prepare and review monthly journal entries for revenue and Cost of Goods Sold.
o Prepare and review monthly multi-channel income statements.
o Monitor standard costing of inventory.
o Coordinate annual audit to ensure timely completion.
o Fulfill other regulatory and legal compliance reporting for licenses and taxes.
o Review and monitor reports from General Ledger and ERP systems to ensure accuracy and completeness. Identify and correct system errors as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years Public accounting experience is highly preferred.
- 3+ years Supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits, credits, and account reconciliations.
- Strong experience in revenue and cost accounting.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Accountable and driven team member, able to foster an environment that promotes high performance standards.
- Critical thinker and problem solver who is self-driven to identify and resolve issues.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle constantly competing priorities. Proven ability to complete projects on schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, sit for extended periods of time and walk intermittently. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment – a controlled atmosphere or Factory environment – a non-controlled atmosphere, moderate noise levels.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
