    The Assistant to the Athletic Director for Travel and Intramurals is responsible for administrative duties within the athletic department, including, but not limited to: athletic team travel planning and organization, , assist with billing and invoice processing, summer camps coordination, assist with home game management, director of year-round intermural programs, and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. This position requires frequent travel.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in sports management, physical education, athletic coaching, recreation or another related field required; Master's degree preferred.
    2. Five years successful experience working in a collegiate athletic program (preferably at the NAIA level), preferred.
    3. Ability to serve as a strong Christian role model/mentor for student athletes and actively contribute to the spiritual development of athletes.
    4. Must possess strong organizational and planning skills.
    5. Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal, in the performance of job duties.
    6. Ability to timely and efficiently complete tasks that have set deadlines.
    7. Understanding of how to develop a competitive sports program with knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
    8. Ability to work well in a team environment.
    9. Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license and be able and willing to travel frequently, including overnight trips.
    10. Must have and maintain certification of First Aid and CPR.
    11. General proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
    12. Self-starter, highly motivated and well-organized.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Manage, coordinate, and develop all aspects of athletics team travel.
    2. Manage, coordinate, and develop all aspects of the university intramurals programs.
    3. Recruit, organize and develop intramural staff.
    4. Provide administrative support in athletics.
    5. Assist with athletic fundraising, alumni activities and public relations as needed.
    6. Foster a cooperative work environment and provide mutual support with all constituencies and colleagues.
    7. Represent the program and Simpson University with sportsmanship, integrity and professionalism.
    8. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
