    The Department of Economics seeks to hire a motivated office assistant with good organizational skills to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students for Summer 2024.

    This individual must have excellent communication skills, adhere to FERPA and confidentiality requirements and follow federal/state regulations. The office assistant will greet all individuals requesting assistance in the department.


    Duties and responsibilities include:


    Welcomes and greets visitors, students, parents in person or on the phone; directs visitors, students, and parents to appropriate department or sites.


    Responsible for retrieving and delivering mail, faxing documents/forms, answering phone calls, screen phone calls, transfer phone calls to appropriate staff/departments.

    Responsible for file scanning, file creation, paper filing, and labeling of department records.

    Cleaning and disinfecting front desk area and computers.

    Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Ability to provide excellent customer service

    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

    Ability to analyze and solve problems

    Ability to work well under pressure

    Ability to interact and communicate with people in person or over phone, often in stressful situations

    Knowledge in MS Word and MS Excel for entering data

    Work experience is highly preferred

    Must be work-study eligible
