    Are you a mechanically inclined electrician who enjoys solving problems and troubleshooting?

    Catalina Cylinders has an opening for an Electrician at our Hampton, VA location. This position will modify or upgrade machines with PLCs, make modifications to PLC programs, troubleshoot machines for electrical repair and upkeep, and keep machines running at an optimal level while minimizing down time.

    The Electricians responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Ability to Support, improve, and maintain high-speed production machinery.
    • Analyzing Conditions and Providing Solutions - Identifying and examining production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings.
    • Demonstrate superior skills, knowledge, and understanding of how to install, repair, assemble and disassemble various types of electrical machinery and equipment.
    • Be flexible with changing maintenance needs.
    • Support the IT department with the installation, repair and upgrade of the hardware used in IT.
    • Assist the maintenance mechanics in troubleshooting and repair equipment that crosses over into multiple disciplines when the need arises.
    • Work closely with production, quality assurance and maintenance to implement operating procedures to improve operational performance.
    • Ensure quality standards are met at all times.
    • Demonstrate superior skills, knowledge, and understanding of how to install, repair, assemble and disassemble various types of electrical machinery and equipment.
    • Must be creative in solutions without being unclear in their documentation.
    Requirements:

    The successful Incumbent will also:

    • Have two years of electrical maintenance experience.
    • Be proficient in shop mathematics
    • Respond to issues with a sense of urgency
    • Ensure quality standards are met at all times
    • Bring a firm focus and understanding of PLC
    • Have prior Manufacturing Experience
    • Be able to work around electrical, mechanical, and environmental hazards existing in manufacturing environments- including moving parts and objects, high-powered machinery, sharp metal shavings, blades, tools, etc.
    • Stand/walk continuously throughout the shift.
    • Be capable of frequently lifting up to 60 lbs.
    • Be capable of reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling and/or other awkward movements.
    • Be able to work at heights above ground level.

    Must own and have a working knowledge of hand tools common to the trade
