    Position Description

    The Registrar will maintain student records, develop class schedules, ensure accurate attendance accounting, generate reports, and provide general administrative and clerical support for the upper school division at The Harvey School. Knowledge of student scheduling, database management, and accuracy and attention to detail are imperative. Assume other duties as determined by the division heads or head of school.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the school.
    • Communicate with a variety of persons and or organizations (e.g. other schools, students, staff, parents, etc.) for the purpose of providing information on a variety of enrollment and graduation issues.
    • Compile student records for the purpose of meeting state, federal requirements.
    • Greet individuals entering the school office (e.g. visitors, parents, students, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of responding to inquiries and directing individuals to appropriate location/personnel.
    • Maintain a variety of records and/or files, including student schedules, budget entries, purchase orders, rosters, student files, emergency records, daily attendance, completed reports, etc.
    • Perform enrollment activities (e.g. interpreting transcripts, updating automated student information system, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with financial, legal, state, or federal requirements.
    • Perform record keeping and general clerical functions (e.g. proofreading, filing, copying, faxing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting departmental operations.
    • Prepare a variety of reports and written materials (e.g. report cards, academic honors, grade checks, family and community letters, etc.)
    • Process documents, forms, mailings, and materials (e.g. new registrations, transcripts, and transcript requests, withdrawals) for the purpose of disseminating information and completing tasks.
    • Work with the College Office to coordinate transcripts and aid in the college counseling program.
    • Work with the Learning Specialist to assist in accommodations work with College Board and ACT organizations.
    • Oversee the enrollment process for new students, gathering all required information, while also coordinating class schedules and resolving scheduling conflicts.
    • Maintain communications and schedule for the Upper School Office. Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree
      • Working knowledge of databases.
      • At least four years of experience in a school environment, ideally in an independent school.
      • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, admin, and parents.
      • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
      • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
      • Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor. This is a 12-month position with a salary range of $45,000-$65,000. To apply for this position:
