    JOB SUMMARYThe Operations Team Leader is responsible for the safety of all employees working on shift and for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all power plant equipment.

    This position must ensure that the plant is operated in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental regulations.

    The Operations Team Leader is responsible for managing the performance of his or her shift to ensure the safety of personnel, maintaining compliance, protection of equipment and assets, and coordinating plant activities.

    Coordination efforts include the direct control of plant operations in accordance with operating limits and operating procedures as well as performance management including training, employee development, setting goals, giving feedback, and coaching.

    This position maintains the overall leadership responsibility for the plant on night shifts, holidays, and weekends.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEnsuring a safe work environment is always maintained by using prudent judgment to resolve any problem that may affect the safe operation of the plant.

    Initiate and execute any actions required by the Plant McIntosh Emergency Action Plan.

    Awareness of abnormal situations and ability to act to appropriately assess and begin resolving these situations to minimize the consequences to people, environment, and assets.

    Establish operating goals and objectives aligned with those set by Operations ManagementRoutinely monitor, appraise, and coach the performance of his or her direct reports.

    Perform routine plant inspections to identify issues related to safety and environmental compliance, housekeeping, equipment conditions, and hazards to personnel to ensure that deficiencies are identified, and corrective actions are initiated.

    Ensuring plant management and Fleet Operations stay informed of critical equipment conditions.
    Serve as primary contact for coordinating daily operations with all departments.


    Additional Information:
    This position requires participation in a rotating on-call status.

    Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesJOB REQUIREMENTSProvide direct oversight to the department to ensure adherence to regulations, operating procedures, safe operating limits, compliance, and administrative procedures.

    Minimum 5 years' experience in power plant operations required.
    Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
    Strong technical background in the operation and maintenance of a generating plantStrong technical background as Control Board Operator preferred.
    Demonstrated experience working with operations procedures preferred.
