    We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join the AMETEK LMS team This position will manage and perform overall planning, materials, inventory, and shipment activities for the Business Unit (BU). Specific duties and functions required to meet team goals and objectives include manufacturing planning utilizing an MRP system, team/vendor communication and evaluation, and inventory forecasting and control. The Supply Chain Manager will also participate in interdepartmental business planning, product lifecycle, and inventory management, as well as tracking individual and team performance relative to strategic goals. Specifically, this candidate will operate in a hands-on role executing purchasing, planning, and shipping actions while building, leading, and managing the materials planning and control functions for the BU. They work closely with the Operations Manager in supporting key facility objectives around manpower, materials, and machines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Leads Supply Chain and Materials Department with planning, purchase, and management of supply to achieve business goals.
    • Participate in the sales and operations planning process to ensure incoming material meets product volume and mix requirements.
    • Apply the latest planning and information management tools, search out and leverage best-practices, and participate in ongoing skills training. Maintain all material control-related systems to reflect changes of internal and external customer demand.
    • Responsible for management of all inventories (FG, WIP, Raw). Optimize and balance inventory levels to maximize key metrics; inventory turns, component availability and cost, part quality, transportation costs; limit excess and obsolete inventory.
    • Work with business unit on inventory and logistics planning of new products, inventory forecasting/reduction, and strategic yearly cost reduction initiatives.
    • Maintain strong lines of communication with teammates, vendors, Finance, IT, Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations to drive efficient issue identification and resolution.
    • Develop supplier audit process and periodically conduct audits on key suppliers.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor supplier improvement programs. Track and report supplier on-time delivery and quality.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with supply base (existing and new; domestic and international). Evaluate and select new suppliers as appropriate.
    • Manage Material Review Board (MRB) process and have complete responsibility for material quality, supply chain quality, and delivery performance. Periodic team performance reporting also required.
    • Develop and maintain accurate standard costs for all purchase components and assemblies.
    • Advise management of industry competitive situations, alternative supply sources, commodity price trends and supply/demand situations.
    • Provides guidance and works closely with 3rd party vendors on external product treatments (coating, quality inspections, etc).
    • Works closely with Sales, Customer Service, Customers, and 3rd party freight providers on shipment of finished good product.
    • Perform all above duties in accordance with applicable directives and company policies.
    • Management and development of supply chain related staff (buyers, planners, and shipment support staff).
    • Works closely with Operations Director in the areas of safety, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement methodologies, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
    • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
    • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
    • Determines department staffing requirements and ensures compliance with company policies.
    • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.

    Education/Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Materials Management. Operational planning experience a plus.
    • Proven record of success as a "hands on" operations management leader with at least 10 years' experience in similar role(s) with a progressive career track.
    • Preferred experience with customized product including high mix / low volume production environment.
    • Demonstrated history of successful change transformations (including designing and implementing operational excellence improvements).
    • Demonstrated advanced data management, manufacturing forecasting, production planning, project management, and purchasing experience.
    • APICS/ISM/CPM/CPIM/Green Belt (or above) certification preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in and be challenged by a team-based environment which places a high degree of emphasis on accountability for customer service levels, inventory management, cost reduction, and quality performance.
    • Familiar with manufacturing machining environment.
    • Proven experience in project leadership, including demonstrable strengths in multifunction and interdepartmental communication, project management, and scheduling.
    • Highly developed problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communications, interpersonal, leadership, negotiation and organizational skills.
    • Willing to travel domestically and/or internationally to complete supplier audits.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
