- Plans, organizes, and manages the work activities of staff to facilitate the attainment of Commission's goals and to ensure the consistent application of administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manages scheduling and maintains and synchronizes an agency-wide calendar.
- Coordinates out of state travel and meeting arrangements and internal events, trainings, and workshops.
- Confers with staff and supervisors to exchange information on and/or explain work policies, procedures, and guidelines and to identify the characteristics, and formulate possible solutions to, work-related problems.
- Trains staff in the principles, practices, policies, and/or procedures of the agency to maintain and/or improve efficiencies in administrative procedures and processes.
- Studies/analyzes existing systems and recommends changes in policies, procedures, and standards.
- Acts as liaison for internal staff and external agencies regarding logistics, administrative support, building management and building security.
- Coordinates and oversees the optimal utilization of office space and building resources.
- Facilitates the purchase of a variety of agency office equipment, supplies and materials as needed.
- Serves as vehicle coordinator; facilitates vehicle repairs & maintenance; advises on purchases and assignments.
- Drafts agency correspondence as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:
The Nebraska Public Service Commission seeks detail-oriented, self-motivated and conscientious individual to provide administrative support to Executive Management and Commissioners. The Office Services Manager will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the agency and its various departments, including communicating with department heads, relaying important information or policy changes from upper management and implementing incentives to enhance employee productivity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business administration, office management, or related field. Three (3) year of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing administrative or business functions. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Proficient with Microsoft Suite (excel, word, access, and outlook).
Preferred Qualifictaions:
Bachelor's degree in office management or related field, education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. Four (4) years of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing administrative or business functions. Experience in an office-related setting, program management, and/or procurement, executive support and managing office administrative functions.
Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday; flexibility available to promote work-life balance.
Hiring Rate: $55,000 annually, salary is negotiable commensurate with experience.
Knowledge of: office management and record keeping methods and practices; administrative report preparation practices; the methods, procedures, and equipment of office operations and administrative functions; the procedures of bookkeeping and record keeping.
Skill in: operation of computer equipment and other office machines; use of computer software to work process, prepare correspondence, and track information.
Ability to: Must be organized, able to multi-task, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to interact (in person, by telephone, computer, email, and correspondence) with staff at all levels, elected officials, and external stakeholders to establish work relationships; apply management practices, techniques, and methodologies to assigned activities; identify and prioritize problems and formulate possible solutions; identify and interpret program-administrative requirements, policies, and regulations to provide guidance and advice; work independently and handle confidential information.
