    Internal Job Title:
    Development Specialist


    Main Function:
    Fundraising generalist with particular emphasis on annual fund, donor stewardship and communication programs, and special event coordination. Lives the CARES values at all times.


    Required Job Specific Competencies:
    Strong oral/written communication and project management skills required.
    Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience.
    Demonstrates skill in fundraising.
    Demonstrates the ability to manage special events and assist with soliciting sponsorships/support.
    Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize daily activities.
    Demonstrates the ability to work independently on projects and meet deadlines with little or no supervision.

    Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with volunteers, Thompson Associates and Board members, donors, prospective donors, and other external parties.

    Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to donors, staff and the health system.

    Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite - with specific talent with Word and Excel-Demonstrates skill with Constant Contact, Donor databases, project management software.


    Qualifications:
    Valid NYS Driver's License


    Education:
    Required two-year associate degree in liberal arts or equivalent experience.
    Preferred bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, liberal arts, or related field.


    Experience:
    Required 2-3 years in fundraising, project/event management or public relations.
    Preferred 2-3 years in healthcare fundraising development.


    Pay Range:
    $ $25.00 per hour


    Starting Rate:
    Based on experience
