- Evaluates clients by interviewing client, family, and other persons, conducting physical examinations, observing behaviors, reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
- Develops treatment plans by determining nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders; establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
- Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress towards goals with clients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications.
- Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress; consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
- Complies with agency productivity standards and maintains an appropriate caseload to reach the weekly expectation of client contact and budgeted hours.
- Continually assess the needs and symptoms of clients and families formulating psychosocial diagnosis, gathering history, and determining the most appropriate method(s) of providing treatment/evidence based practice.
- Maintain a client file to level of requirements mandated in agency policy and completes documentation in a timely manner.
- Required CA Medical License in Good standing, CA DEA, Board Certified. Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment.
- Experience working with dual diagnosed/co-occurring patients with both a substance use disorder and a mental illness.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of social, cultural, and intergenerational dynamics of Asian immigrants and refugees.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Successfully meet the post-offer/pre-hire physical and DMV Driving Record Search requirements and receive an eligibility status for Level II Background Check required by the State of California.
