- Conduct, lead fieldwork and collection of field data
- Conduct and interpret lab analysis of artifacts
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, prioritizes, assigns and monitors the work of field crews
- Identify and accurately record archaeological and historic cultural resources
- Coordinate with Federal and State Agencies
- Maintain project correspondence with Principal Investigator
- Author site forms and reports
- Ensure compliance with KLJ quality and safety standards
- Utilize effective written and oral communication
- Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, prioritizing and monitoring client relations
- May provide quality control by reviewing work completed by Archaeologist Technician
- Assist with schedules, reports and permits
- Coordinate class I file search inventories
- Apply National Register for Historic Places regulations to cultural services resource management
- Stay current with industry trends
- Four-year degree in anthropology, archaeology, history or a related field
- Experience conducting CMR work
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
- Completion of an accredited archaeological field school
- A Master's degree in anthropology, archaeology, history or a related field
- Regional experience is highly desired
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite are highly desired
- GIS background
- Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Talk or hear and communicate clearly
- Be able to walk on uneven terrain up to ten miles per day
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds

Position PurposeAs an Archaeology Field Supervisor, you will conduct and lead cultural resource fieldwork including archaeological and historic field inventories, survey, testing, excavation, and construction monitoring for KLJ client projects.
Essential FunctionsPreferred
The Archaeologist II is supervised by the Department Manager and will receive general supervision and direction on project related tasks from the Archaeology Principal Investigator or Project Manager.
Hours and TravelThis position requires the individual work 40 or more hours per week with 60% of the time spent in the field and 40% in the office.
