Centra Medical Group has an opportunity for a PA to join our Hematology Oncology group. Oncology experience is required.Centra Hematology Oncology is an Outpatient Department of Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.
This new and exciting position offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of oncologists and nurse practitioners, as well as a full staff of infusion oncology nurses, medical assistants and certified technologists with a full on-site lab.
The position is full-time, Monday-Friday and primarily office-based. Future opportunity to assist oncologists in hospital rounding. Position will provide care in both our Lynchburg and Farmville clinics.Performing follow up visits and surveillance for those who have completed cancer treatment or are currently being managed for a hematologic condition.
Initiating appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic medical interventions for those currently receiving chemotherapies or other therapies. Recognizing normal and abnormal laboratory, diagnostic findings and pathology involved.Some management of chronic health conditions.
Performing new hematology consults in coordination with the collaborative physician.
Assistance in developing the new oncology care model to improve patient care and outcomes.
