    Description:

    Summary:
    Early-stage research and design team for early design of wearables. This role is strictly all CAD work, and this person needs to enjoy that part of the role. Quick turnaround of prototypes needed within 1 week. Helpful if they come out of auto, aerospace, wearables, or consumer electronics industry. Great plus if they have Siemens NX or Rhino CAD experience. If they have experience with SolidWorks CAD, they should be able to ramp up.

    We want your help creating prototype hardware systems needed to study the customer experience for future Client products We are looking for someone with excellent design and fabrication skills, a deep attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication to collaborate with a diverse group of cross-functional partners.


    Key Qualifications:


    A history of bringing new ideas to life via the use of first principles analysis, CAD tools, and a combination of machining, additive manufacturing, and softgoods prototyping processes.

    Sketching and free body diagrams will be meaningful communication tools, and judicious use of GD&T and tolerance analysis will be expected.

    Mechanical design experience should include designing fixtures, prototypes, test platforms, characterization, and proof of concept hardware.

    Proficiency in Siemens NX, Rhino, or other similar CAD packages is expected, along with the use of basic machine shop equipment, hand tools, and soldering equipment to build and modify hardware prototypes.

    On this team you will apply a mix of technical and creative skills to quickly design and build mechanical prototypes.

    We maintain discipline, safety, communication, and organization in a fast paced lab environment, and establish trust-based relationships with product design teams throughout Client, helping them quickly identify the best design path.

    Examples of the kind of work we do are:

    Designing and assembling modular/configurable hardware to fit the user population
    Designing and assembling custom hardware for each user
    Designing and assembling mass and center-of-mass representative study prototypes
    Designing anthropometry-based test fixtures for characterization efforts


    Education & Experience:

    Minimum:
    BS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field, with 3-5 years of CAD experience.


    Education:
    BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
