    Description

    As a Vehicle Integration Technician, you will help fabricate and build chassis and powertrains for Autonomous Vehicles. You will perform a variety of functions from fabricating components to building and installing wiring harnesses. You will utilize your expertise in hydraulics, engines, electrical systems, and welding to assist in building, testing, and troubleshooting systems.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other tools necessary for the job.

    Install and calibrate hydraulic, electrical, compute, and sensor systems required for autonomous vehicle operation.

    Operate gas or arc welding equipment, tools, metal press, and/or a metal lathe to repair and/or fabricate parts and tools necessary to maintain company vehicles and equipment.

    Design and fabricate parts and special tools needed for unique situations by machining, arc welding and oxygen-acetylene cutting, plasma cutting, and MIG and ARC welding.

    Laying out and performing work with accuracy and quality without supervision.

    Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

    Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical job requirements.

    Perform all other duties as assigned in a professional and efficient manner.

    Participate in all company communication efforts.

    Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Basic technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.

    Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.

    Strong organizational and time-management skills

    Basic understanding of electrical systems, sensors, wiring, and ECUs.

    Ability to read and understand service repair manuals.

    Ability to establish effective working relationships with superiors and fellow workers.

    Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.

    Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and handbook formulas.

    Proficient use of precision measuring instruments: micrometer, laser aligner, caliper and bore gauges with no supervision.

    Competent with welding/cutting.

    Physical Activities/Requirements:

    Must be able to perform heavy work moving objects up to 50 pounds or more.

    Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and sit for long periods of time during daily routine.

    Must be able to operate heavy-duty machinery.

    Education and Experience:

    High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred.

    1-5 year related experience or technical school degree/certificate

    Driving Duties and Responsibilities:

    Must have a valid drivers license.

    Practice safe driving habits.

    Follow all state and national safety regulations and standards.

    Keep exterior of vehicle clean and presentable.

    Keep the interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter.
