Description

Work up to 19 hours per week. Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking to bring on a supplemental MRI Technologist to join our growing team. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Travel between locations is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Monitors video display of the area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality
Explains the procedure to the patient and position and immobilize the patient on the exam table.
Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
Reviews and evaluates computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of modern office equipment including fax machines , copiers, scanners, document management software, Electronic Medical Record, medical software, word processing software
Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Knowledge of common health insurance plans and benefits.
