    :

    We are looking for a talented, driven and experienced government relations professional to support our growing Global Public Policy team.

    The Public Policy Manager, State will report to the Head of State Public Policy (US) and help lead TikTok's regional state policy efforts that are critical to the success of the business.

    The Global Public Policy team's work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy.

    The mission of the Global Public Policy team is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.


    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and build relationships with state policymakers and political figures
    • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as legal, communications, and the policy team on public policy matters to help guide the development of products, services, and policies
    • Advocate, internally and externally, policy positions that benefit and protect the TikTok user community
    • Identify, monitor, and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, and issues of importance to the company
    • Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings
    • Execute strategies for engaging with policymakers around issues important to Tiktok and our community of creators
    • Prioritize state regulatory and legislative action

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5 years of experience in Public Policy or Government experience and internet policy.
    • Knowledge of the State legislative process.
    • Advocacy experience.
    • Ability to understand the business implications of public policy and ability to work well as part of a team.
    • Excellent government relations skills.
    • Outstanding writing skills and the ability to distill complex policy issues into simple explanations.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, with prioritization and multi-tasking skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • JD or advanced degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Public Policy or Government experience in a multistate region or setting.
