    Responsibilities:

    This is primarily a work from home position, but does require you to be in the office at least 1 day per week. Up to 25% travel may be required.

    The System Manager of Advanced Analytics is responsible for managing the integration of people, processes, and technologies to enable self-service analysis by leaders and market-based associates. The SMAA is ultimately responsible for building best-in-class reporting, notifications, and other self-service analytics tooling. In doing so, the SMAA not only builds tools, but also guides the entire portfolio of tools, platforms, and processes such that end users receive insights in an impactful, low-friction way. To do so, the SMAA stays in close contact with national, regional, and local leaders in order to monitor their use of existing tools and anticipate new opportunities. The SMAA then works with national teams to meet those new opportunities through software and data development, aligning people and processes, training, or other interventions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Building dashboards, reports, and other self-service and ad hoc tools.
    • Oversee quality assurance for all tools and data published by the data teams.
    • Train and manage analysts and other associates, and assist in managing the ongoing operations of data teams.
    • Manage analytics and software development projects, including backlog grooming, managing requirements, reporting progress, and aligning efforts to leadership strategy.
    • Monitor trends and new technologies in data, AI, cloud, and related fields. Actively propose improvements to the current approach.
    • Model and promote a team culture focused on outcomes, innovation, and collaboration.
    • Contributes to the development of data governance standards
    Qualifications:
    • A Masters degree (MA/MS) in Visual Arts, Applied Mathematics, Business, or similar, preferred.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • 5 years of progressive experience in product, project, or people management in a data-intensive environment, or equivalent skills and experience.
    • Strong SQL skill and extensive pratical knowledge of relational database and data warehousing principles.
    • Experience with ELT tools, DBT, or analytics engineering, preferred.
    • Ability to build engaging interactive reporting in visualization tools, such as Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
    • Excellent taste in visual design and knowledge of data visualization best practices, required.
    • Demonstrated competence in project management, including portfolio management and comfort with agile project management principles.
    • Significant experience managing people, with demonstrated ability to positively coach and mentor junior staff towards increasing responsibility and skill.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word or Google Docs, Outlook or Google Calendar, Excel or Google Sheets, and PowerPoint or Google Slides
    • Shows a high sense of urgency and ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
    • Cultivates relationships with people in other departments and other roles
    • Ability to prepare quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders
    • Proven ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
    • Healthcare and supply chain experience is an additional benefit
    • Seasoned business judgment and superior analytical abilities, particularly in strategic business and financial analysis
    • Basic knowledge of corporate accounting, including expense recognition and ability to interpret financial statements
    • Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
