Histology Tech - Minneapolis

Job description
DutiesPerform routine embedding and microtomy of biopsies and large specimens.
Work primarily during M-F day shift with 8-hour days, starting between 5-8 am.
Backfill for open positions as needed.
Skills
Proficiency in tissue processing, including the use of automatic tissue processors and handling calcified/decalcified tissue.
Experience with dehydration and clearing agents, as well as GI processing schedules.
Expertise in embedding and microtomy, including:
Automated/Manual Microtome
Embedding GI specimens, large specimens, molds, and skin techniques
Microtomy of fatty and hard tissue
Paraffin wax sections and precision microtomy
Proficient in staining techniques, specifically Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stain.
Ability to prepare slides for staining.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
National certification required:
ASCP-HT.
Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
Community hospital experience preferred.
Travel experience required.
Strong embedding and microtomy skills in a high-paced lab environment.
