About the Patient Care Coordinator RoleUpperline Health Indiana is seeking an energetic, compassionate and driven Patient Care Coordinator to assist our physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting.
This person will be based in our Jasper, INlocationand responsible for greeting patients in a friendly manner, accurately checking in and checking out patients so they are prepared for their current and/or follow up appointment, assisting with medical claim creation, verification, and authorizations, and other clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a quality patient experience.
Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities Greet and check-in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical records/database, perform all registration functions and collect copays and balances due as appropriateSchedule patients via office scheduling policies and confirm appointment times as well as educate patients on the impactful services of UpperlineAnswer and screen in-bound calls, take messages, and provide appropriate information to patients as well as handling outgoing phone calls as appropriate (e.g., appointment confirmations, referral calls, pre-certs, etc.)Assist with charge entry, and /or coding issues, and other related work if requestedAccurately and concisely document patient feedback and special needs our clinicians to provide excellent care during each appointmentExplain and communicate Upperline's services in an informational, influential, concise, uplifting, and personable manner with outstanding etiquetteManage daily on-time appointment schedules and effectively communicate this with physicians Maintain office supply inventory, including checking, ordering and stocking supplies Support practices' coordinated care approach when appropriate Contribute to team effort by assisting with additional duties and when support is requested Patient Care Coordinator Qualifications Previous experience handling patient interactions or assisting in a healthcare clinic or hospital setting Knowledge and/or familiarity with medical billing and coding is highly preferredExperience working in a podiatric or orthopedic practice is plusAn exceptional customer service orientation featuring empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interactionTenacious problem solver, with demonstrated capacity to embrace complex problems and arrive at effective solutions in a timely mannerEnjoys working in a team-based environment with active collaborationMust be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skillsStrong written communication skills with success in providing notes, updates, and written communications via computer systemsExperience working in an EMR is preferred, athena software is a plusDemonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work historyCompensationCompensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
