    Summary:

    The Forklift Operator (also know as Powered Truck Operator (PTO)) is responsible for receiving, shipping, material handling, and order fulfillment, and maintaining inventory accuracy in a multi-shift, multi-site warehouse operation.

    Responsibilities:
    • Operates equipment for a variety of purposes up to and including:
      • Loading and unloading trailers,
      • Transporting material within the facility,
      • Storing and staging material.
    • Equipment operated includes, but is not limited to, fork lift trucks, roll clamp trucks, various motorized pallet trucks.
    • Ensures all product is stacked neatly and safely when stored or delivered to location.
    • Maintains accuracy of all inventory movement at all times.
    • Insures inventory accuracy by proper completion of all required forms and by proper utilization of bar code readers.
    • Prepares warehouse transfer sheets.
    • Inspects loads for correct count and quality deficiencies.
    • Shrink wraps loads when needed.
    • Maintains Warehouse organization and housekeeping.
    • Responsible for operating within policies & procedures, and maintaining compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements; including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures and SafeStart practices.
    • Performs and documents required pre-trip inspections and reports any deficiencies.
    • Establishes, maintains and promotes high standards of customer service.
    • Keeps equipment operating safely through proper use in accordance with operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing preventive maintenance and repairs.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); OR one year related experience and/or training.
    • Forklift certification perferred and minimum of 6 12 months accident-free experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret information, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
