    **Position:** Transportation Intern **Location:** Indianapolis, IN

    **Job Id:** 325 **# of Openings:** 1 **Transportation Intern** **Description:** Beam, Longest & Neff, LLC (BLN), is a leading provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the United States. BLN is searching for **highly talented creative learners**. As a Department Intern, you will apply your newly learned **technical skills** in a professional environment. You will be paired with a mentor and continue to **learn and develop** new skills and deepen your technical understanding. Your **commitment to quality** will come into play as you develop and review plans and computations. Use your strength as an **innovator** to develop time saving design resources that can be used department wide. You will **manage time and budget** to ensure profitability and client schedules are met. **Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:** The primary responsibilities of the Transportation Engineer Intern will include a variety of tasks associated with transportation projects. The individual will perform civil design (i.e. grading, hydrology and hydraulics, roadway alignments, profile grades, and calculate quantities for engineering estimates), drafting, preparing technical reports and technical comparisons to alternates. The engineer will also have contact with clients in an effort to provide ultimate satisfaction. Projects may include the design of highways, streets, roads, freeways, utility facilities, and other projects related to transportation. **Minimum Requirements:**

    Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program

    Knowledge of Microstation V8i and familiarity with transportation design software such as InRoads or other modeling programs is preferred.

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products

    Must have good written and verbal communication skills
