Job summary
We are looking for a motivated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team of highly skilled and dedicated staff. The candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Russian and should possess a thoughtful desire to help people who are struggling with addiction.FSTR is a modern, fast-paced, fast growing and client centric outpatient program with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn that services multiple counties across NY State. We offer many traditional services of an outpatient like one on one and group therapies but what makes us different from everyone else beside the flexibility of delivering our services virtually we also offer Family therapy, Russian Speaking track (Russian therapists) mobile unit staffed with CRPAs recovery coaches meet clients where they are at connect them with recovery self-help groups community their choice build recovery plans ensure clients on track in their recovery journey.
CORE DUTIES Responsibilities: Maintain manage clinical needs assigned caseload ensuring accurate complete timely documentation interventions/services Conduct document individual counseling sessions as required OASAS regulations Conduct document group counseling sessions as assigned Perform various assessments including Managed Care Assessments Trauma Assessment Intake Assessment needed Follow all FSTRs outpatient guidelines standards policies procedures Maintain patient confidentiality required all applicable statutes 42 CFR part HIPAA Complete consents required aftercare medical post-treatment Complete Emergency Consent appropriate consents family concerned individuals Communicate treatment progress engage avoid early termination treatment episode Complete consent communicate referral sources Work coordination DC Planner independently absence DC planner completing discharge documentation required Assist discharge utilization reviews established clinical administrative protocols Ensure daily treatment schedules followed groups individual sessions provide coverage necessary Assist assessment intake process required
- Maintain proper certifications attend necessary training remain current clinical approaches
- Manage patient conflict intervene crises utilizing de-escalating techniques verbal altercations AMA risk Participate weekly supervision meetings Perform other duties assigned supervisor Maintain clean work environment
