    Outpost Technologies is seeking a talented Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, operating and maintaining precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components.     Position Responsibilities:

    • Set up and operate precision machining equipment, including CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machines.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to understand component requirements.
    • Select and load appropriate tools, materials, and fixtures for machining operations.
    • Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to ensure accuracy and quality of machined components.
    • Utilize CAD/CAM software for programming of CNC machines.
    • Prove out new CNC programs and machine processes.
    • Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
    • Create and/or modify work holding and fixturing.
    • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
    • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to address any issues or concerns related to machining processes.
    • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as AS9100 quality standards.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Strong knowledge of precision machining equipment, including CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machines.
    • Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines
    • Experience using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
    • Solid understanding of machining processes and tooling selection.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in machining operations.
    • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Works well with peers and co-workers including, but not limited to, Technicians, Machinists, and Manufacturing Engineers.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in a related field, such as machining, manufacturing, or engineering.
    • Additional certifications or training in machining or related disciplines.
    • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and requirements.
    • Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in machining.
    • Ability to work with a variety of materials commonly used in aerospace manufacturing, such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, inconel, and plastics.
    • Experience with machining tight tolerances and complex geometries.
    • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
