cBEYONData is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of a unified data reference architecture for a customer embarking on a significant modernization initiative. This critical role involves creating a comprehensive framework that includes a reference model, reference architectures, and reference implementations. The successful candidate will define and implement a data mesh and/or data fabric that will serve as the backbone for data management strategies, supporting enhanced data integration, accessibility, and analytics across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

Reference Architecture Development: Design and develop a unified data reference architecture that aligns with organizational goals and facilitates efficient data operations across various business units.
Data Modeling and Design: Construct data models that support long-term viability and scalability of the data architecture. Ensure models accommodate diverse data types and large volumes of data.
Implementation of Data Mesh/Data Fabric: Define and implement data mesh or data fabric architectures to ensure decentralized data management and improved data accessibility and quality across the enterprise.
Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to gather requirements and align architecture development with business needs. Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of data architecture projects.
Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Evaluate emerging technologies and tools that can enhance the data architecture framework. Advocate for the adoption of technologies that improve data processing, storage, and security.
Standards and Compliance: Establish data architecture standards, practices, and policies to ensure compliance with data governance and security regulations. Ensure that data management practices are compliant with relevant standards.
Performance Monitoring: Develop metrics and monitoring strategies to assess the performance of the data architecture. Use insights from data to make informed decisions on architecture improvements.

Requirements:

Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
At least 7 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or a similar role, with significant leadership responsibilities
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data architectures, including data meshes and data fabrics
Strong understanding of modern data management concepts and technologies, including big data platforms, cloud services, and ETL tools
Expertise in data security and compliance regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of leading diverse teams and projects
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment

Desired Skills:

Prior experience at Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)
Experience with ERP systems or similar integrated technology solutions is a plus.
