The Role:
As
Design Engineer – Engineering Support,
you will be a key member of a team of engineers and technical specialists dedicated to providing outstanding technical support to both internal and external customers.
This will involve problem-solving, finding and implementing engineering solutions for any issues affecting our existing seating products in the field as well as in production to deliver excellent customer service and supporting our Sales team with the technical elements of bid preparation.
To be successful in this position, you will have/be;A relevant Engineering degree achieved at 2:1 or above
Solid experience gained within a mechanical engineering-related field utilising design engineering and CAD for product design engineering, development and manufacture.
Ability to undertake fundamental engineering hand calculations.Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques such as composites, injection mouldings, vacuum forming, castings, forgings, extrusions and machining from solid.
Sound knowledge of assembly methods and DFM.Experience and aptitude in structured problem-solving methods
Experience working in the aircraft seating or interior industry
Very strong work ethic and excellent analytical skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Working knowledge of Part 21 Sub Part J and G and Part 145
