    The Position:
    The Underwriter is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, quoting, declining and non-renewing both new & renewal business. In addition, they foster the growth of our agent and client relationships.

    They are also responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with fellow colleagues and peers while supporting the Underwriting Department as well as all departments that interact with Underwriting.

    What You Will Do As A Underwriter, HOAReview New Business applications for accuracy, determine if policies meet eligibility guidelines and accept, reject, and/or adjust coverage as necessary.

    Assume responsibility for incoming inquiries via phone, email, fax, etc. from agents and Insureds.
    Instruct agents on company guidelines and procedures, be an available resource to agents daily.

    Maintain understanding of State guidelines, including available discounts, selection/rejection requirements, State specific forms, and updates to underwriting guidelines and rating factorsReview required documentation for policy changes, follow up with the Underwriters and modify policies as necessary.

    Research agent service problems/issues to conclusion, this may include communication with other units, such as, IT, accounting, and marketing.
    Utilizes internal and external resources to confirm building information and characteristics are in line with our guidelines.
    Develops and strengthens agent relationships and communication. Must be able to analyze and provide feedback when necessary, regarding the quality of an agency's submissions.
    Processes and maintains assigned workflow in a timely manner.
    Answer agent calls with professionalism.
    Willingly accepts other duties as assigned.
    Responsible for handling incoming calls related to, underwriting and coverage.
    Reviewing new business inspections for eligibility and compliance with guidelinesMaintains positive internal and external work relationships.

    Consults with field representatives, insurance agents, brokers and other insurance or inspection companies to obtain further information, quote rates or explain company underwriting policies.

    What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team MemberPay Range*:
    $24.92-$32.69 Hourly*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.
    Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
