- Bachelor's degree with a major in in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics or the equivalent.
- Some relevant laboratory or science experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures and equipment, e.g. buffer preparation, UV spectrophotometer, basic E. Coli culture.
- Ability to keep accurate records.

- Conducts experiments by applying established methods and procedures.

- Summarizes results and prepares progress reports for oral presentation at laboratory meetings.
- Prepares appropriate and understandable representations of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, etc.
- Contributes to the preparation of scientific manuscripts by drafting portions of the text, preparing graphs, tables, and charts, etc.
- Conducts literature searches to assist in establishing new laboratory techniques.
- Accomplishes day-to-day care and housekeeping of laboratory.
- Orders laboratory supplies as needed.
- Monitors laboratory equipment and instrument performance; obtains maintenance and repair as necessary.
- Maintains computerized records associated with laboratory activities.
- Instructs others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques and provides technical guidance and direction as required.
- May assist in mammalian cell experiments.

The Pellegrini Lab at Dartmouth is hiring a laboratory technician. The technician will join a research team ) interested in employing structural biology and rational approaches to design new therapies targeting the NF-κB pathway. The team uses biochemical, cell biology and biophysical methods with a strong emphasis on biomolecular NMR and X-ray crystallography. The NIH-funded short-term position is available immediately (8 months), renewable depending on grant funding.
