In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team that manages cloud-related incidents and finding effective solutions to restore service promptly, minimizing any impact on both external and internal customers. Your main tasks will involve coordinating the operational activities of the team through subordinate staff managers.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
The role of Senior Director of Support and Tools in Cloud Operations Engineering will provide you with the autonomy to shape your daily responsibilities while collaborating with dedicated colleagues to fulfill the following duties:

Set the direction and strategy to ensure excellence in Cloud Operations.
Execute Fannie Mae's technology strategy with a focus on driving significant changes and leveraging an agile approach to achieve IT Cloud Operations goals aligned with overall Business and IT strategies.
Manage enterprise Cloud operations, including planning, development, exercising plans, budget management, annual program agendas, and metrics for recovery improvement.
Supervise the performance of our production environments by leading our external and cloud technology platforms.
Establish effective processes and procedures to enhance cloud service reliability and continually enhance SLA (Service Level Agreements).
Implement alerting systems and real-time dashboards to monitor cloud service failures and performance and appropriately respond to alerts.
Collaborate with Cloud Governance to ensure accountability for measuring KPIs, activities, and performance.
Work with other teams to develop enterprise solutions for Natural Language Processing using Supervised Machine Learning models for tasks such as Sentiment Analysis and topic modeling.
Explore automation opportunities in Cloud Operations and leverage automation team members to implement them effectively.
Create and manage standardized and efficient technology services while ensuring the reliability and scalability of infrastructure in a dynamic environment.
Orchestrate various cloud-related changes across the enterprise, prioritizing production stability.
Analyze and implement necessary changes following the provisioning of cloud environments for applications.
Provide technical support for cloud-hosted application releases.
Facilitate communication regarding outages/changes with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Stay updated on emerging cloud and infrastructure technologies to evaluate various vendor offerings in collaboration with Architecture, Engineering, and Information Security teams.
Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

8 years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
Experience in the Fintech or Financial Services sector.

Skills and Expertise

8+ years of management experience in Information Technology, focusing on operations, infrastructure, security, and technical architecture; with at least 5 years leading large teams.
5-7 years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud, traditional infrastructure, and ITSM operations frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in leading 24x7 Cloud Operations teams in various architectures within a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
Strong business acumen and relationship management skills. Ability to anticipate user needs, solve complex problems, and provide excellent customer service.
Experience managing multiple projects of varying sizes using different methodologies in a cross-functional environment.
Professional cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Talent acquisition and retention skills to build effective operation teams.
Ability to develop practical solutions for complex technical and organizational challenges.
Expertise in defining and achieving Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Proven ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Quick learner who can apply existing knowledge to connect different areas effectively.
Proficient in analyzing data patterns and trends from multiple sources.
Comprehensive knowledge of cloud technologies, security, and regulations.
Skilled in Python programming, ServiceNow, and Jira.
Experience in monitoring and diagnosing distributed software services and databases.
Proficient in Business Resilience, Risk Assessment, Governance, and Compliance.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage projects, people, and resources efficiently.
Expertise in Identity and Access Management, Influencing, and Programming.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
