About our Medical Surgical-Adult/Peds:

We are a high energy, fast paced 30 bed Medical/Surgical/Adult & Pediatric unit that cares for medical and post operative patients.

These patients are primarily adults 18 years and older. However, we also care for approximately 1-2 pediatric patients per month.

Our patient population consists of but not limited to post op knees, hips, shoulders, colon resections, bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and stable pneumothorax.

Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:6 with the assistance Patient Care Associates. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by coworkers with knowledge, dedication, teamwork, empathy, and compassion.

Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patients highest level of wellness.

Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.
or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.

In the state of Missouri: If no previous experience, Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift

Preferred Certifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
