    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee laboratory operations in a Biotech company located in Redwood City, California. The Laboratory Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our research and development laboratories, supporting innovative projects aimed at advancing novel therapies. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and mentor a team of scientists while contributing to groundbreaking research.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Supervise and mentor a team of laboratory scientists and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
    2. Oversee daily laboratory activities, including experimental design, execution, data analysis, and documentation, to support research and development projects.
    3. Manage laboratory resources, including equipment, supplies, and reagents, to ensure adequate inventory levels and proper maintenance of laboratory infrastructure.
    4. Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and safety protocols in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    5. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including research, development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to support project timelines and milestones.
    6. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure laboratory equipment, reagents, and services as needed.
    7. Ensure adherence to quality control and quality assurance standards for laboratory experiments, data integrity, and documentation practices.
    8. Maintain laboratory records, including experimental protocols, research findings, and laboratory notebooks, in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
    9. Participate in laboratory inspections, audits, and regulatory submissions, providing support for compliance activities as needed.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field.
    2. 5-8 years of laboratory management experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting, preferably in ophthalmology research.
    3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of scientists and technicians.
    4. Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and instrumentation commonly used in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry research.
    5. Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols, biosafety regulations, and compliance requirements.
    6. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
    7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
    8. Experience with project management, budgeting, and resource allocation is desirable.
