    This position is located at the ACDP DART Center (Goldsboro, NC).


    DART Center is a 300-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of substance use disorder treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community.

    Currently, this employee's primary tasking is as a Building Administrator, receiving, direct supervision from the Human Services Program Manager II (Facility Manager).


    At this facility, the Substance Abuse Program Coordinator (SAPC) is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the assigned residential building (s) through direct supervision of the Substance Abuse Worker (SAW) staff.

    Specific tasks include developing work schedules, delegating duties, supervising daily activities within the building, and monitoring/interacting with residents/staff to ensure building safety, security and audit compliance.

    This employee conducts performance appraisals and delivers disciplinary actions to assigned staff as necessary.


    The SAPC collaborates closely with other DART Center clinical, medical, and administrative management staff to ensure the coordination of a broad array of facility service delivery and ongoing staff development/training as required in policy.


    Additionally, as a credentialed clinical professional, this employee may be assigned to assist in the provision of clinical services, treatment components and/or supervision during periods of staff shortage or other circumstances, to include assignment at other ACDP in-prison clinical locations.


    Applicants must possess a current certification from the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board to qualify for this position.

    About the Department of Adult Correction (DAC)

    The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.

    This department includes State Prisons, Correction Enterprises, the Division of Community Supervision, and the Division of Rehabilitation & Reentry.

    Minimum Education and Experience


    • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years' experience working in a criminal justice environment within a correctional facility, jail-based substance abuse treatment program, or a community-based substance treatment program that serves offenders adjudicated through the criminal justice system after credentialing has been obtained.
    Necessary Special Qualifications


    • Credentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) or an equivalent credential from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board Act.

    NOTE:

    To obtain certified status in the CADC credential, one must complete three (3) years of counseling under the supervision of a licensed professional and satisfy these requirements of the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board.

    Out-of-state applicants with similar credentials from an IC&RC Member Board will also be considered.

    Alternatively, applicants possessing one of these credentials from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board will be considered:


    • Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)
    • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
    • Applicants possessing one (1) of these credentials will be considered including those in an Associate Status.
