    Job Description and Duties

    Under the supervision of the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) or the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) III, Correctional Facility (CF), the SRN II, CF is responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and evaluating the work of nursing and other assigned staff in a service line delivery area. The SRN II, CF ensures adherence to policies and procedures, resolves personnel issues, and guarantees quality patient care. They actively participate and support the Complete Care Model.

    Minimum Qualifications

    - Possession of a current license as a registered nurse in California.

    Either I

    Experience: One year of experience in the California state service as a Supervising Registered Nurse I, Correctional Facility.

    Or II

    Experience: Three years of experience in the California state service as a Registered Nurse, Correctional Facility.

    Or III

    Experience: Three years of registered nursing experience within the last five years, with one year in a supervisory capacity and two years in a general acute care hospital.

    Candidates must pass the examination to obtain list eligibility for the Supervising Registered Nurse II, Correctional Facility.

    • The position requires a cleared Background Investigation before hiring.
    • The position requires Medical Clearance before hiring.
    • The position requires a current license as a Registered Nurse in California. You need to provide a copy of your license before hiring.

    Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice need to go through a background investigation process using Live Scan Fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
