    Physician (MD,DO, Resident) Details RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Neurologist for Employment in Somerville, New Jersey RWJBarnabas Health is currently seeking a General Neurologist with strong communication skills and EEG competency for employment with RWJBarabas Health Medical Group atRWJ University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ.

    This is an ideal position for a neurologist who excels in practicing general neurology in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, while also enjoying the opportunity to bring any additional skills and build a sub-specialty niche within the group.

    The system and the hospital are highly motivated to expand the existinggeneral neurologypractice rapidlywith both bothgeneral neurology and sub-specialty services to meet the needs of our communities.

    ABPN BC/BE Neurologist with 1-year fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology (primarily EEG)
    We are open to both experienced physicians and recent graduates

    Inpatient responsibilities will be consultative in nature at RWJ University Hospital Somerset, which is a 300-bed community hospital with a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, a Tele-Neurology service responsible for stroke codes, a closed ICU directed by a neuro-critical care specialist and excellent neurosurgical coverage.

    Inpatient responsibilities include consulting on and following patients in the ED, ICU's and the floors including the dedicated Neuroscience floor on 4West, and reading EEG's.

    The system has deployed EPIC EHR in the hospital and the office with Dragon One for dictation. We use state of the art Natus Xltek digital EEG for our routine and video-EEG studies.

    Outpatients are seen at the RWJ Medical Group-Bridgewater Hub location, a well-appointed and well-staffed office in close proximity to the hospital, providing primary and specialty care to our communities.

    A custom designed and dedicated specialty hub housing our neurology and cardiology practices is expected to open nearby within the next 2 years.

    This is a busy office practice seeing patients with the gamut of neurological problems and is well supported by close relationships with neurological and neurosurgical sub-specialists at theRutgers Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery in New Brunswick and at St.

    Barnabas in Livingston, all of whom are on the EPIC platform as well.

    Weekend call coverage at the hospital is expected to be 1 in 4, by participating in a call coverage group within the division of Neurology.

    Weekday coverage will be shared within the group and will be 1 in 2 to begin with, and is expected to become less frequent with continued recruitment of additional neurologists.

    The Neurologist is expected to play an active role in the development of treatment protocols, management plans, and evidence-based treatment standards for neurology patients.

    Participation in multidisciplinary quality and patient safety committees as needed will be expected.

    Proper documentation of billing and of clinical services is key to the position, which must follow all applicable organizational and Joint Commission/regulatory requirements and standards.

    Other responsibilities include participation in the education and training of residents, fellows and medical students.

    The Neurologist will allocate up to 3 hours per week for administrative time, to allow for clinical trials, community outreach, and other efforts as needed.
