Job Summary:

Callaway Gardens is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook 1 to prepare meals as ordered by guests and ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen. The Cook 1 will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and equipment safety, and adhering to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals as ordered by guests
• Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen
• Adhere to food safety standards and equipment safety
• Monitor food cost controls and food quality standards
• Operate different areas of the kitchen as required
• Assist with kitchen inventory management and ordering supplies
• Follow kitchen schedules and ensure timely preparation of meals
• Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff as needed

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience as a Cook 1
• Excellent knowledge of cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and kitchen equipment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of food safety standards and equipment safety
