Responsibilities:
Process and submit insurance claims to various health insurance companies. Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment. Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment of outstanding claims. Address and resolve billing inquiries from both insurance companies and patients. Perform regular audits to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with clinical staff to verify treatment codes and secure all necessary documentation for billing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing software, insurance guidelines, and coding updates. Prepare and present reports on billing activities and financial performance as required. Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably within a mental health or healthcare setting. Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding, as well as insurance guidelines and regulations related to mental health services. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
