BI Analyst II, Credit Risk at First Tech

The BI Analyst II, Credit Risk works independently to perform research, data extraction and analysis, building data and analytical tools and providing financial modeling to support the mitigation of credit risk. Here's what you can expect from the role and what you need to be successful:

Job Duties

• Develop complex financial modeling, particularly predictive loss models, cash flow modeling, and stress testing
• Draft and maintain documentation of procedures for developing financial models
• Assemble and develop clean datasets and new analytics that monitor credit risk, profitability, and associated variances from expectations
• Collaborate with Lending leaders to analyze effectiveness of underwriting criteria
• Prepare, deliver, and/or present methodology and modeling results for senior leadership, committees, and other business units, effectively communicating analytical insights and logical thinking
• Aggregate data from multiple source systems to research and analyze root causes of identified risk trends
• Proactively identify gaps and make modifications to or create new scripts and analytical frameworks to meet changing needs
• Validate data and identify calculation inconsistencies for needed code corrections
• Write and execute SQL/R code proficiently to create and produce monthly and quarterly risk reports
• Maintain the operating procedures' library and SQL/R code for developing financial models
• Meet regularly with business units to review credit risk trends and impacts to profitability
• Participate in the training and orientation of new BI Analysts

Essential Skills

• Minimum 4 years' experience in an analyst role, preferably in the financial services industry
• Experience applying and developing analytical methods, including data mining techniques
• Experience auditing code for bugs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically to all levels
• Proficiency with a data visualization/dashboarding tool (such as Tableau)
• Advanced knowledge of an analytical/quantitative tool (such as Excel, SAS, Python, R)
• Excellent SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum Education: bachelor's degree in finance, Statistical, Quantitative, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon | (HYBRID) Target Compensation in Hillsboro, Oregon: $98k - $106k annually + annual bonus Benefits options include:
