- Administer medication IV fluids via peripherally inserted central catheters.
- Administratively and clinically manage an average of six to eight clinical trials and evaluate/analyze clinical data and trial results.
- Collect, compile, and maintain source documentation including complete medical history, medication history, and all protocol required information.
- Schedule, plan, and participate in study monitoring visits. Collaborating with study monitors and addressing any potential queries or deviations in a timely fashion.
- Develops and participates in educating patients, their families, or significant others about post discharge care programs.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.
- Provides guidance and direction to members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care.
- Orients and educates new staff in nursing techniques and departmental procedures.
- Conducts Research related infusions
- Provides and oversees direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocol and physicians' orders.
- Utilizes knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety precaution; and initiates appropriate interventions in crisis situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited RN Program
- OR Three (3) years of Urology clinical-setting experience
- OCN certification is a plus and Research Experience is a plus
- Strong Knowledge and keyboarding skills using electronic medical records (EMR)/
- Good computer skills related to, Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- A high level of written and verbal communications skills
- Working knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations
- Ability to organize and prioritize work with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently in a goal-directed manner while communicating effectively with patient, family/caregivers, and provider at all levelsLanguage Skills

Position Summary:The Research RN will coordinate infusion activities to assure compassionate patient care and will also be responsible for managing, conducting and documenting clinical research trials for Urology of Indiana while adhering to Good Clinical Practice/IHC Guidelines, the Code of Federal Regulations, Site SOPs and IRB regulations. The Research Infusion Nurse will provide direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and clinic standards. The Research/Infusion Nurse will also promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
