**Description**
Perform the duties and responsibilities listed and assist in special projects. Ensure all employees are working safely and efficiently.
The duties listed are not set forth for the purpose of limiting the assignment or work. They are not to be construed as a complete list of the many duties normally performed under a job title or those to be performed outside of an employees normal line of work.
Provide ideas to improve production processes which will increase efficiencies, improve plant cost effectiveness, and work towards a leaner organization.
Take over the responsibilities as the site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) manager. Participate in corporate weekly safety conference calls. Attend corporate safety conferences.
Manage the site hazardous waste program. Provide training, establish new procedures when needed, and become the in-house hazwaste expert.
Investigate any accidents, injuries and near misses. Provide an incident report before the end of the shift. Inform all supervisors and managers of the incident.
Ensure compliance of all safety and cGMP procedures by regular and temporary employees.
Use the daily efficiency report data to identify opportunities to reduce downtime and to help establish production goals for specific products.
Review daily downtime and work with mechanics to identify root causes and generate ideas to eliminate downtime.
Maintain plant security which requires monitoring the unauthorized removal of company property including waste cardboard, pallets, etc., and bringing potential security problems to the attention of the Site Director.
Oversee the safe handling of bulk chemical unloading. Must be familiar with and adhere to SOPs covering safe handling of chemicals and propellants.
Manage capital projects such as; new production line equipment, process tank replacements, equipment overhauls, and provide training to employees on the safe use of the equipment.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and One Point Lessons (OPL) as needed.
Help present production and safety results during the monthly plant meetings.
Requirement:
3-5 years management experience.
Able to effectively communicate in English; verbal and written form.
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and coordinate with other groups.
Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
