    POSITION SUMMARY


    Our Physical Therapist III is a senior clinician who provides an advanced level of technical skills during evaluation and treatment of patients within a particular specialty.

    The senior clinician is responsible for implementing specific treatment programs based upon current principles and practices of Physical Therapy and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team.

    These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Children's Health philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide direct Physical Therapy services to patients in accordance with standards of practice while demonstrating progression of treatment plans and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation; collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other members of health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning; use unscheduled time to flex to other work areas for patient treatment.
    • Serve as a preceptor and act as a mentor for new staff therapist, students, and rehabilitation aides; train in advanced and/or specialized treatment tools and techniques.
    • Participate in department/hospital committees & task forces and assume other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Preferred: At least five-years' experience as a Physical Therapy.

    EDUCATION

    • Required: Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Preferred: Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

    • Required: License to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Texas
    • Required: Current CPR/BLS Certification with the American Heart Association of Healthcare Providers upon hire
